What are the environmentally friendly refrigerants?

[China Refrigeration Network] The environment-friendly refrigerant is a non-combustible, efficient, energy-saving and environment-friendly refrigerant.  The environment-friendly refrigerant is colorless gas at normal temperature and colorless transparent liquid under its own pressure.  Environmentally friendly refrigerants are currently internationally recognized z* good substitutes for R-12 (i.e., difluoromethylene chloride).  Environmental friendly refrigerant and mineral oil have poor mutual solubility, and ester oil (POE68) has good mutual solubility.  Environmentally friendly refrigerants can be widely used in refrigeration systems of automobile air conditioners and central air conditioners, as well as refrigerators, freezers, pharmaceutical and cosmetic aerosols, etc.  Common types of environmentally friendly refrigerants can be divided into R134a, R410A, R407C, R417A, R404A, R507, R23, R508A, R508A, R152A, etc.


R-134a (tetrafluoroethane) refrigerant ※


  R134a is currently recognized as one of the main refrigerants to replace R12. It is commonly used in automotive air conditioners, commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, as well as as as a foaming agent for the production of hard plastic insulation materials. It can also be used to configure other mixed refrigerants, such as R404A and R407C.


Main Uses: It is mainly used as refrigerant instead of R12, and is widely used in automobile air conditioning and refrigerator refrigeration.

R-410a refrigerant ※


Physical and chemical characteristics: R410A is a chlorine-free fluoroalkane non-azeotropic mixed refrigerant at normal temperature and pressure, colorless gas, and compressed liquefied gas stored in a steel cylinder.  Its ODP is 0, so R410A is an environmentally friendly refrigerant that does not damage the atmospheric ozone layer.


Main Uses: R410A is mainly used to replace R22 and R502. It is clean, low toxic, nonflammable and has good refrigeration effect. It is widely used in household air conditioning, small commercial air conditioning, household central air conditioning, etc.

R-407C refrigerant ※


Physical and chemical characteristics: R407C is a chlorine-free fluoroalkane non-azeotropic mixed refrigerant at normal temperature and pressure, colorless gas, and compressed liquefied gas stored in a steel cylinder.  Its ODP is 0, so R407C is an environmentally friendly refrigerant that does not damage the atmospheric ozone layer.


Main Uses: R407C is mainly used to replace R22. It is clean, low toxic, nonflammable and has good refrigeration effect. It is widely used in domestic air conditioning and small and medium-sized central air conditioning.

  ※R417A refrigerant ※


Physical and chemical characteristics: R417A is a chlorine-free fluoroalkane non-azeotropic mixed refrigerant at normal temperature and pressure, colorless gas, and compressed liquefied gas stored in a steel cylinder.  Its ODP is 0, so R417A is an environmentally friendly refrigerant that does not damage the atmospheric ozone layer.


Main Uses: R417A is mainly used to replace R22, featuring cleanness, low toxicity, incombustibility, good refrigeration effect, etc. It is used for heat pump (OEM initial replacement of R22) and air conditioner (after-sale replacement of R22), etc.

R-404a refrigerant ※


Physical and chemical characteristics: R404A shall not be a chlorine-free non-azeotropic mixed refrigerant. It is colorless gas at normal temperature and pressure. It is compressed liquefied gas stored in a steel cylinder.  Its ODP is 0, so R404A is an environmentally friendly refrigerant that does not damage the atmospheric ozone layer.


Main Uses: R404A is mainly used to replace R22 and R502. It is clean, low toxic, nonflammable and has good refrigeration effect. It is widely used in medium and low temperature refrigeration systems.

R-507 refrigerant ※


Physical and chemical characteristics: R507 is a chlorine-free azeotropic mixture refrigerant, colorless gas at normal temperature and pressure, and compressed liquefied gas stored in a steel cylinder.  Its ODP is 0, so R507 is an environmentally friendly refrigerant that does not damage the atmospheric ozone layer.


Main Uses: R507 is mainly used to replace R22 and R502. It is clean, low toxic, nonflammable and has good refrigeration effect. It is widely used in medium and low temperature refrigeration systems.

R-23 (trifluoromethane) refrigerant ※


Physical and chemical properties: R23 (trifluoromethane, FREON23), boiling point at normal pressure is -82.1℃, freezing point is -155.2℃, liquid density (25℃) is 0.67kg/L, critical density is 0.525kg/L, critical pressure is 4.83MPa, ozone depletion potential (ODP) is 0, and it is an environment-friendly refrigerant.


Main Uses: Trifluoromethane, also known as HFC-23, is a high pressure liquefied vapor that can be used as refrigerant to replace CFC-13.  At the same time, it is also an ideal substitute for halon 1301 and has the characteristics of cleanness, low toxicity, good extinguishing agent effect, etc.

R-508a refrigerant ※

R-508b refrigerant ※

R-152A (difluoroethane) refrigerant ※


Physical and chemical properties: HFC-152a(1,1- difluoroethane CH3CHF2), molecular weight 66.1, boiling point -24.7℃, critical temperature 113.5℃, critical pressure 4.58MPa, flammable liquefied gas, ozone destruction potential (ODP) 0.

R-507 refrigerant ※

Main Uses: R507 is mainly used to replace R22 and R502. It is clean, low toxic, nonflammable and has good refrigeration effect. It is widely used in medium and low temperature refrigeration systems.

R-23 (trifluoromethane) refrigerant ※


Physical and chemical properties: R23 (trifluoromethane, FREON23), boiling point at normal pressure is -82.1℃, freezing point is -155.2℃, liquid density (25℃) is 0.67kg/L, critical density is 0.525kg/L, critical pressure is 4.83MPa, ozone depletion potential (ODP) is 0, and it is an environment-friendly refrigerant.
